Just because I saw this yesterday:
$ offlineimap --version │
6.5.5
$ eix -c offlineimap
[I] net-mail/offlineimap (6.5.6 at 13.02.2015)
The Gentoo ebuild pulls the tarball from github.
So most likely this is an upstream (you :P) packaging issue (but a minor one ;))
