Please see the attached log from IRC. Zigo will add our IDs to enable
us commiting to debian-openstack Git. I hope you find some other
valuable information inside the IRC log - perhaps also note the fact
that it might be helpful to ping via IRC. For me the hint to

   http://openstack.alioth.debian.org/

seems very important. Please study it and follow the advise where it
applies.

Does this work now?

I forgot to say: Please contact the author of the Ubuntu package and
tell him what we plan to do. When you do so please CC this list. I
might consider adding further information.

Kind regards

    Andreas.

M?r 30 23:51:25 <an3as_>	Just keep on the good work and I hope I'll be able to add a new member to your team in the said MoM project.
M?r 30 23:51:56 <an3as_>	Has OpenStack repository set ACLs so any DD will be able to commit without beeing a member?
M?r 30 23:52:25 <an3as_>	I do not think that I should be a member of OpenStack team but there might be a need that I help Malihe in her packaging attempt ...
M?r 30 23:54:05 <zigo>	an3as_: I didn't know it was possible to do what you're talking about with ACLs.
M?r 30 23:54:10 <zigo>	So no, it's not the case like this yet.
M?r 30 23:59:39 <an3as_>	You need to ask alioth admins as per
M?r 30 23:59:41 <an3as_>	https://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/FAQ#How_do_I_give_write_permission_outside_my_Alioth_project_.3F
M?r 31 00:00:01 <an3as_>	I'd recommend this since its very practical. I have set it in all projects where I'm admin
M?r 31 00:00:34 <an3as_>	If you think this is sensible for OpenStack, please be so kind to ask for this soon since alioth admins need some time to set this up

Apr 06 18:39:56 <an3as>	zigo: Could you please accept mali-guest and tille (=/me) to the alioth project?
Apr 06 19:45:06 <zigo>	an3as: Will do.
Apr 06 19:45:30 <zigo>	an3as: The issue is that I don't have my alioth password on *this* laptop, so I got to get it on my other one.
Apr 06 19:45:58 <zigo>	an3as: Also, I'm working on setting-up gerrit for the packages.
Apr 06 19:46:18 <an3as>	Thanks
Apr 06 19:46:28 <an3as>	We'll remain patient so far :-)
Apr 06 19:46:48 <zigo>	an3as: Do you plan on contributing?
Apr 06 19:47:16 <zigo>	FYI, I'm currently working on validation of the Kilo packages in advance of the release.
Apr 06 19:47:29 <zigo>	So far, all packages can be installed correctly...
Apr 06 19:47:49 <zigo>	I just fixed a failure with neutron networking setup.
Apr 06 19:48:02 <zigo>	It's running again: https://kilo-jessie.pkgs.mirantis.com/job/openstack-tempest-ci/8/console
Apr 06 19:48:49 <an3as>	I do not intend to contribute personally. My application text says that I'd like to work with Malihe on a "Mentoring of Month" project.
Apr 06 19:49:08 <an3as>	Once this is done I hope she will be able to contribute in her own.
Apr 06 19:49:29 <an3as>	It just makes sense to be able to commit to the same repository as the MoM student
Apr 06 19:49:30 <zigo>	Ah, cool.
Apr 06 19:50:10 <an3as>	I need to admit that I have no idea about OpenStack but I hope to help in technical packaging issues
Apr 06 19:50:43 <zigo>	an3as: Could you make sure to let me know what is getting commited then?
Apr 06 19:51:06 <zigo>	I really wish we had Gerrit in place... :(
Apr 06 19:51:34 <zigo>	an3as: So far, every contributor was chatting with me about new commits.
Apr 06 19:52:51 <an3as>	I admit I do not know the rules in OpenStack team
Apr 06 19:53:09 <an3as>	Please correct me if I might be misguided
Apr 06 19:53:33 <an3as>	I intend to prepare a package together with Malihe in VCS.
Apr 06 19:53:41 <zigo>	an3as: There's no such things as rules, as I've been doing everything mostly alone. Though I'd like to setup a gerrit to be able to review any new change.
Apr 06 19:53:55 <an3as>	We'll ask you for confirmation (perhaps the last upload step?) before something gets uploaded.
Apr 06 19:54:05 <zigo>	an3as: What package is that? :)
Apr 06 19:54:15 <an3as>	I admit I have never used gerrit (even if I should)
Apr 06 19:54:24 <zigo>	I've done all of the new release (ie: kilo) already...
Apr 06 19:55:01 <an3as>	https://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/openstack-devel/2015-April/008601.html
Apr 06 19:55:34 <zigo>	an3as: Gerrit is a review system for patches, so that one sends a patch (using 'git review'), and someone else has to approve the patche so it gets merged.
Apr 06 19:56:17 <zigo>	an3as: Ah ok, Manila!
Apr 06 19:56:20 <zigo>	Very good.
Apr 06 19:56:35 <zigo>	an3as: This is one of the projects which I thought it was time to have a look into.
Apr 06 19:56:41 <an3as>	:-)
Apr 06 19:57:21 <an3as>	BTW, we would like to communicate via Openstack-devel mailing list mainly
Apr 06 19:57:47 <an3as>	As I wrote in the MoM related mail we will tag the mails with [MoM] in the subject.
Apr 06 19:58:07 <an3as>	I hope communication via this channel is transparent and visible enough
Apr 06 19:58:18 <zigo>	an3as: It is.
Apr 06 19:58:39 <an3as>	In other words: I hope other team members will follow our communication and tell us if we do something wrongly :-)
Apr 06 19:58:47 <zigo>	an3as: Did you read http://openstack.alioth.debian.org/ btw?
Apr 06 19:58:52 <zigo>	That's an important read...
Apr 06 19:59:50 <an3as>	Thanks for the hint which is really valuable information which I did not found before.
Apr 06 20:00:07 <an3as>	I'll forward this information in my next MoM mail
Apr 06 20:00:29 <zigo>	an3as: I have just finished to re-write it, and published the new openstack-pkg-tools in Experimental including all the new stuff with sbuild and all.
Apr 06 20:02:04 <zigo>	an3as: No worries! :)
Apr 06 20:02:09 <zigo>	an3as: BTW, is she from China?
Apr 06 20:02:27 <zigo>	"Ma LiHe" sounds Chinese to me.
Apr 06 20:03:04 <zigo>	Any idea how to write it in Chinese chars?
Apr 06 20:03:34 <an3as>	I'm sure there might be several languages combining these syllables. Malihe is from Iran. :-)
Apr 06 20:04:49 <zigo>	Ah ok! :)
Apr 06 20:05:54 <an3as>	Would you mind if I'll copy a log from our conversation here in IRC to the mailing list?
Apr 06 20:09:34 <zigo>	an3as: Sure, go aeadh with the copy.
Apr 06 20:09:36 <zigo>	ahead
Apr 06 20:10:02 <an3as>	OK
Apr 06 20:10:06 <zigo>	an3as: Also, let her know that I'm available if she needs anything.
Apr 06 20:10:42 <zigo>	an3as: Form 8:45 to 11:15am every morning for example (which is when I'm at the office).
Apr 06 20:11:07 <an3as>	Cool. That's very welcome and most probably needed in some cases
Apr 06 20:11:19 <an3as>	Thanks a lot for your support
