Hi,

I don't understand why there should be a difference between the binary
package that comes with Debian and the one compiled by me for deb-src,
but anyway here is what I did:
#aptitude install alsa-source -t experimental
#module-assistant update
#module-assistant auto-install alsa-source
#modprobe -r [all modules with snd in name]
#modprobe [all modules with snd in name]
#/etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart

I don't think the alsa-utils restart was necessary, but anyway. Did I
understand you correctly and this is this equivalent to what you had in
minde?
After all these steps the problem is still present. I guess you should
reopen it.

Well, no. I guess this yet another hardware costs + wheight saving
feature. This bug didn't come with the preinstalled Vista. I am
surprised by the question though, as I believed that by treating the bug
like a valid one that you acknowledged its existance.

:(, it's 5 months since the report.

Thank you,
Alex.
