Sorry, there seems to be a misunderstanding. What I meant was warnings
like this:

| dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: package could avoid a useless dependency if debian/bacula-console/usr/sbin/bacula-console was not linked against libncurses.so.5 (it uses none of the library's symbols).

Those are unrelated to #621282, I think. Maybe you could try adding
"-Wl,--as-needed" to LDFLAGS to work around the excessive linkage.
