I had a look at the precompiled v9.2.2 packages to maybe find out how
they deal with the tray-monitor - they don't ship it. But they do ship a
package with the aligned driver. Maybe it's wasn't from the official
sources.

Good, I'm looking through the commits between 9.2.2 and 9.4.0 to see
what changed.
