The manual trickery for bat works (while being hideously ugly), but I
don't claim to understand how and why.

qmake and libtool or qmake+libtool are something I am not able to grasp
in any shape or form.

Maybe someone with a bit more understanding of the moving parts involved
here can see where the problem lies and how to fix or work around the
problem properly.

I'd also like to propose a backport of 9.0.6, since the next Ubuntu LTS
will have a 9.0.6 FD and it would be nice if users of Debian Stretch can
backup their Ubuntu systems without having to manually install a
9.0.6-Dir/SD.
