I still wonder why Kern didn't just update the schema version.

We need to pay more attention on the time MariaDB 10.2 enters Debian.
There may be some configuration changes or snippets for MariaDB we need
to ship to make MariaDB compatible with Bacula then, of the changes Kern
made to the Bacula SQL schema don't already cover this.

If we need to alter the GLOBAL configuration for MariaDB the question
remains on how to do this for remote servers.

A local server is easily dealt with, we can ship a configuration file in
/etc/mysql/conf.d (maybe after asking a debconf question?) but we (and
maybe even the user installing the package) don't have access to a
remote servers configuration.
