Version 5.4.10?

Hi Frank,

I experienced a problem over the last one or two weeks (time is floating) with
WCG as well - though I have not touched anything on my BOINC or WCG
installation except routine apt-get dist-upgrades on sid.

The log in /var/lib/boinc-client tells me - with the boincmgr not running -
that
	2006-07-12 10:26:03 [---] GUI RPC bind failed: -1
and it does so from 5.4.10 downwards, the first version to come up with
something is 5.2.15. This however now does not run WCG but folding at home or so
on my machine, a standby project of mine, indeed.

The boincmgr hangs, even though I downgraded it to 5.2.15, too. An strace
gives me
mmap2(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) =
0xb7f1a000
read(6, "127.0.0.1\tlocalhost\n141.83.113.2"..., 4096) = 411
read(6, "", 4096) = 0
close(6) = 0
munmap(0xb7f1a000, 4096) = 0
socket(PF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_IP) = 6
connect(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(31416),
sin_addr=inet_addr("127.0.0.1")}, 16) = 0
send(6, "<boinc_gui_rpc_request>\n <majo"..., 166, 0) = 166
recv(6, <unfinished ...>

which seems somehow related.

My preferences for leave in memory is "no".

I do not think that it is a Debian fault, has anybody experiences anything
like this?

Steffen
