I'd be very interested if you'd be willing to make the debian/*
files for your packages available somewhere.  I've looked at
http://dominique.corbex.net/gnomesword/ but didn't find them
there (only .deb .dsc and .changes files).

Yes, absolutely.  I think that many potential new users of the
software will try the version from their distribution's repository
and then either use that or (if it doesn't work satisfactorily)
simply give up.
