Look in /var/spool/exim4/input and /var/spool/exim4/msglog

You can do that in /etc/aliases:

root: peter
peter: peter at easthope.ca

or something similar.

What does paniclog complain about? /var/log/exim4/paniclog

With this policy in shorewall I have nothing added for smtp:

$FW		net		ACCEPT
net		all		DROP		info
all		all		REJECT		info


If you want to receive mail by smtp from outside, you should add a rule
for that in /etc/shorewall/rules.
