I don't know why both Python versions seems to be involved -- maybe
James can comment on that.

Regarding using Python 2.6: Having a single Python version should be
preferable. However, we are still using Python 2.5 here, and hence have
little experience with 2.6. I know other PyMVPA developers who use it,
though.
