When you installed python-mvpa-snapshot you already got a working PyMVPA
installed system-wide. There is no need for further manual action. Just
start python/ipython and run 'from mvpa.suite import *'

Also note:

                                  ^^^^

The snapshot package installed a newer version than your source tarball
-- you have 0.6.0~rc2 now.
