Alright, so you are running something not so old. For a start, I'd
advise you to take a look at the RFE unit tests at mvpa/tests/test_rfe.py,
in particular the two test function test_james_problem() and
__test_matthias_question(). This code should work and might already be
simple enough to serve as a starting point for you.

If you need further help, please don't hesitate to send a script and a
description of what your trying to accomplish and what your data looks
like.
