heh ... I was able to replicate this and not yet sure how to overcome.
May be Nick would know better (I am not using OSX myself)

Meanwhile, if you don't mind spending some bandwidth and probably 20 min
of waiting time, I would recommend you to give a shot to our NeuroDebian
virtualbox appliance which is very easy to "deploy"

1. install virtualbox
2. download appliance, select OSX as OS and closest to you mirror on
http://neuro.debian.net/
3. when running first time at the end if will offer at the end a simple
dialog with multiple options of collections of stuff to install one of
which will be "PyMVPA Tutorial" and it will install everything necessary
for you
