I would have a problem with having to keep every package maintained under
the pkg-games umbrella under SVN. Doing so is a considerable overhead, that
is hardly justified for smaller changes.
SVN will be useful from time to time, e.g. when doing some initial packaging
collaroratively, though.

That's not necessary. We should use a Maintainers: field like
Debian Games Team <pkg-games-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org>
with Uploaders: entries for the DDs, that perform the actual uploads into
the archive. It might be useful to split between the discussion list we're
currently using and a separate mailing list used for the Maintainers: field,
as all bug reports and information about package uploads would otherwise
fill up the regular discussion list.
