In my opinion, g-d-p in sid should primarily support games engines in
sid. Game data packages created with older versions of g-d-p can still
be identified by their version numbers and appropriate Breaks relations
could be added to engine packages. However, changes in g-d-p to adapt
to new packaging layouts required by new game engines should be
thoroughly documented in g-d-p sources to facilitate the creation of
backports.
