I guess upstream too has to do the switch at some time - iirc, ckeditor
is the successor of fckeditor; probably due to the problematic name
"fckeditor" (try to pronounce it as a word and you'll see by yourself).

I guess the dbconfig-common code sniplets from the otrs2 package are
sufficient for giraffe, if not too much already, as we just need to
create a database, grab the credentials and let giraffe do the ugly work
alone. I wonder what happens with following updates, but that's another
story told in a latter chapter, though in the same book.
Sadly I cannot spend much spare time on testing the packages, but will
not forget to do so, as I definitly want to see a fully-fledged and of
course working package of Giraffe in Debian - to be able to port Zentyal
to Dentyal, of which a very important Giraffe would be then.
