On this computer, gnome-terminal does not start up. All I get is:
$ gnome-terminal
gnome-terminal: relocation error: gnome-terminal: \
undefined symbol: vte_terminal_set_scroll_background
I suspect a dependency problem. See below for what I've got.
This system started out as "unstable" quite a while ago. I'm
upgrading packages infrequently, whenever I have time to file a bug
report or two :-), presently from "sarge". If you wish, I do consider
myself somewhat of a dependency problem tester...
Tonight, I installed quite a few new gnome packages, and afterwards
shutdown the X server, and restarted it (I'm using gdm).

Hi,
libvte need to be updated, this bug is fixed on gnome-terminal 2.6.1-4
which has the right depends on libvte. Since this bug is fixed I'm
closing it.
