Bug#502399: diarhesis characters make selection of words impossible

This looks like a TeX document generated using the ae fonts. In which
case, this behavior is expected, since these fonts emulate the
characters by superposing the accents and umlauts to the ASCII
characters.

This should not happen if you use the lmodern or cm-super fonts.
