although there is no warning from libclutter:

but glib, I suspect that these problems are either the same or closely related.

The workaround in the bugreport you linked does work indeed:

export COGL_DRIVER=gl
export COGL_OVERRIDE_GL_VERSION=1.4
export COGL_RENDERER=GLX
export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/fglrx/fglrx-libGL.so.1.2

As it seems that this bug is not directly related to emerillon - would it be
appropriate to close it?
