I was simply following the advice given from this mlist. Nobody said
anything or cautious me not to do that *by then*.

Anthony explains it clearly on the website (thanks for contributing!):

I believe that's the hindsight conclusion derived from this very
discussion.
I should not be blamed for not following something that was not there in
the first place.

Just to clarifying some *facts*.
Anyway,

Having followed the new proposed workflow, I think all of them are good,
except for the *Adopt DEP-14 branch naming
<https://go-team.pages.debian.net/workflow-changes.html#wf-2017-11-dep14>
*part,
which is, I believe, only following in good faith a modern packaging
practice many DD are using for their latest packaging, e.g.,
https://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/notes/debian/git.html. I don't know who the
author is, or how authority the content is, but at least that is clear
explanation & documentation that people can easily follow.

So IMHO, the new proposed workflow should not be brushed aside so lightly
as it IS very helpful, especially for newcomers. Just cautious people not
to *Adopt DEP-14 branch naming
<https://go-team.pages.debian.net/workflow-changes.html#wf-2017-11-dep14>
*should
be good enough. Again, this is only IMHO, from someone who has never packed
a Go package before...
