Checked this earlier.
Locally building revdeps with removed function seems to have no effect
on their build/autopkgtests.

I am not sure if it is worth doing so now, provided we should
switch to xorsimd. However I have pushed a patch to git repo removing that
function.
Please feel free to upload if you think otherwise.
