Hello all, I was referred to this list by Thibaut.

I am working with a friend of mine to see if we can get 'macfanctld' in 
better shape.  Currently two users have made fixes to the code beyond 
what Debian has, so the codebase has been forked twice.  We're going to 
use this as a project for learning some Debian process and C (me) and 
engineering/Agile process (my friend), so we/I will probably ask dumb 
questions a few times.

First we will figure out our workflow, resolve any merge conflicts after 
reviewing the code and the various fixes we've received, get it 
compiling and working and commit that as master.  We have a further list 
of enhancements and bug fixes to work on after that, including the fact 
that the program is not functional on a number of Mac models.

I look forward to getting 'macfanctld' into Debian stable, and as a 
stretch goal, I hope to write and package a panel applet for it or 
integrate macfanctld into an existing commonly-used applet of similar 
nature.

My ultimate goal is for as many Macs as possible to have sane and 
working fan control out of the box when Debian is installed.
