I just checked, all MATE packages are 1.14.0 or 1.14.1; marco is 1.14.2.
This was the case all along since MATE was upgraded from the previous
version in Sid.

The bug did disappear a week ago or so, but it's back as of today. I
really don't understand what causes it, since Marco wasn't updated
in-between.

However, I must have been quite tired when I initially reported it
because I didn't think of reading ~/.xsession-errors. Indeed, every time
Marco crashes, there are these two error messages:

marco: ../../../../src/cairo-surface.c :953 : cairo_surface_destroy:
l'assertion « (_cairo_atomic_int_get (&(&surface->ref_count)->ref_count)
> 0) » a échoué.

Avertissement du gestionnaire de fenêtres : Log level 16:
g_object_set_valist: object class 'MetaFrames' has no property named 'type'

(in French, "a échoué" means "has failed", and "Avertissement du
gestionnaire de fenêtres" means "Warning from the window manager").

Hope it helps.

Regards,
