Hi Randall,

here is a list of bugs I consider to be resolved:

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=525091
  New drivers available (180.51)

- should be closed: We already have 185.18.xx releases ...

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=483571
  new upstream version 173.14.05 might not suck so badly on screen cycling

- should be closed: We already have 185.18.xx and 173.14.09 releases ...

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=511940
  nvidia-glx-dev is missing libvdpau.so symlink

- should be closed: nvidia-libvdpau-dev has the proper link

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=414670
  Unable to load "xf86ExecX86int10"

- reporter requested the bug to be closed because it was caused by an
xorg bug

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=348837
  Can't have the i386 and amd64 modules sources installed at the same time
- since both precompiled objects are included in both source packages,
both i386 and amd64 kernels should be buildable from the same
nvidia-kernel-source package
- using schroot to get a clean i386 environemnt on amd64 (or vice versa)
is a much cleaner way to do this

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=324042

- this bug was supposed to be closed but unfortunately the mail was not
sent to 324042-done@

And the list of module-fails-to-build bugs for outdated kernels and/or
drivers:

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=509781
  Nvidia module doesn't build with 2.6.28 kernel: too few arguments to
function ‘agp_backend_release’
- kernel = 2.6.28, driver = 177.82-1

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=523825
  nvidia-kernel-source: Fails to build
- kernel = vanilla 2.6.29.1, driver = version not reported

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=523922
  nvidia-kernel-source does not build with m-a
- kernel = 2.6.26-2, driver = 180.44-2

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=523962
  nvidia-kernel-source: Module fails to build from 180.44-2 on 2.6.28-1-686
- kernel = 2.6.28-1, driver = 180.44-2

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=411968
  1.0.9746-2 : misdetet kernel version from vanilla
- kernel = ???, driver = 1.0.9746-2

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=459761
  nks 169.07-1 doesn't build with module-assistant
- kernel = 2.6.23-1, driver = 169.07-1

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=483378
  nvidia-kernel-source: wrong patch direction?
- kernel = ???, driver = 169.12-4
- there is nothing being patched during build in current versions

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=498499
  Using amd64 to compile the module into a i386 chroot
- kernel = 2.6.26.5, driver = 173.14.09-5
- building in i386 chroots (using schroot) on amd64 works fine for me

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=462729
  nvidia-kernel-source: Module fails to link in chroot environment
- kernel = 2.6.22, driver = 169.07-2

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=206444
  nvidia-kernel-source: don't force usage of compiler
- driver = 1.0.4496-2
- module-assistant should be in charge of selecting the correct compiler

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=279182
  nvidia-kernel-source: bad placement of .changes file
- driver = 1.0.6111-1
- is about a build problem with make-kpkg which is a currently
unsupported and not working way to build

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=254859
  nvidia-kernel-source: does not honour --rootcmd
- kernel = 2.6.6, driver = 1.0.6106-3

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=241994
  nvidia-kernel-source: Errors at clean target
- kernel = 2.6.4, driver = 1.0.5336-6
- make-kpkg related problem

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=291227
  Patches nv.c, but no permission granted
- nv.c is no longer being patched ...

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=311802
  nvidia-kernel-source: had to run depmod manually after reboot
- driver = 1.0.7174-3
- kernel module build + installation works fine nowadays
