Hi Etienne,

I think you could simply start the debian/buster-backports branch at
debian/3.1.0-2, I can't see the point of merging debian/buster into it.
Then you wouldn't need to revert the patching either, and the structure
would be more straightforward (and correct, unless I miss something).
In my opinion ancestry relations represent development history, not
installation history.
