Any plans to update Asterisk on Ubuntu

I might be wrong, but I don't think this is the right place for the
question, but I'll answer anyway.

Ubuntu is momentarily in the state of Upstream Version Freeze (and
Feature Freeze), but if there are compelling reasons to do the switch,
you might want to file a bug report with the information as outlined in
the following mail:
