I never suggested something like that; I specifically mentioned "decent
shape" and my recent commits show that I'm not suggesting or promoting
low-quality packages.
Even if I wanted to that, the ftp-masters would reject any such
attempts, they're doing some quality check nowdays afaik.
However, I don't see the point of uploading new packages to experimental
instead of unstable. It's note like we're maintaining packages that are
system-critical.
My point was that it is a shame to see packages rot for years in the
repository without being uploaded to Debian.
As you probably saw, I'm carefully checking each of them and asking for
objections in the mailing list while fixing the bugs before the upload
(see e.g. asterisk-addons).
If you are aware of any low-quality packages in our repository that need
some love, feel free to mail the list and I'll do my best to fix them.
