asterisk-bristuff deprecation: what upgrade path ?

Tzafrir is always telling me that the bristuff patch should be separated (well 
not always, but lets say ... 18 months).

How about we start doing this? Can anyone make a list of features available 
only in the bristuff patch, and we can use it as a guide for our work in this 
area? I assume that we want a series of 10-20 patches which will add 
different functionalities to Asterisk (not only BRI support).
