Does the "average user" know what "ADF" means? If this shall really be
changed, it must also be changed in the SANE2 standard draft so we
don't forget it.

Have you tried to just use "auto"? Or even "a"? If the first few
letters are unambiguous, the correct option value should be selected
automatically. This will not work if something else comes after "Automatic
Document Feeder".
