Hi Paul,

Sorry, but we cannot support official Canon software. Please ask them.

On the other hand you can use Sane scanner driver instead of Canon's
scangearamp. But your scanner isn't tested yet.

If you like to be a tester, install recent development version of Sane
as described here: http://www.sane-project.org/README.linux. Your
scanner should work up to 600dpi out of the box. If 1200dpi and 2400dpi
scans are faulty, I can prepare a patch. Please report your results.
