If you can create a merge request on GitLab.com that'd be preferred.

To create a merge request, fork the sane-project/backends, checkout the
release/1.0.31 branch, update the po/it.po file, commit, push and use
the web UI to create the merge request.

If that sounds like abracadabra, a patch to the list will work as well.
