Hello,

I'm working on the project "Improve one of the Debian MIPS ports" [0]. In
few words, the objective of this project is to fix broken packages of
Debian port on mipsel, so that the quality of debian in these architectures
can be improved.

An online repository with all the relevant files of the project can be
found here [1].

Thanks for reviewing my patch James Cogwill.

Below is a summary of what I did last week:

   - Opened bug #789880 [2] for package murasaki version 1.68.6-1.
Maintainer solved the problem before me. Bug was closed on message [3].

   - Opened bug #789527 [4] for package opentoken version 6.0b-1.
Maintainer solved the problem before me. Bug was closed on message [5].

   - Bug #788680 [6] for package openni version 1.5.4.0-12: I asked again
for a peer review of my changes and James Cowgill did it to me. I applied
his suggestions rebuild the package and sent another patch on the bug
thread, on message [7]. Patch is available in [8].

   - Opened bug #789881 [9] for package z3 version 4.4.0-1. During the
dh_auto_build, the header emmintrin.h is not being find. Building it
without using debian sources worked fine. Probably it is something with the
dh_override_auto_configure rule. I'm still investigating the problem.

   - Opened bug #790327 [10] for package openturns version 1.5-7. The
package is not being built due to a restriction on debian/rules that
packages with 1GB should not built on mips/mipsel. I tried to build it
without this restrictions and it got killed (probably due to lack of
memory). I'm trying to build now with a swap file and I will investigate
about this restriction on mips/mipsel devices.

According to the original schedule [0] this week was to focus on fixing
bugs. So, we are up-to-date with the schedule.

Next week:
   - Keep working on bugs #788680, #789881 and #790327.
   - Open new bugs for still broken packages.
   - Work on Mid-Term Evaluation.

Cheers,

Gustavo Alkmim
