Update: looking back, I've made another error with the udev rules file.
I should have installed a specific version, embedded in the debian/
dir, instead of the one which is in the nut/scripts/hotplug-ng/

So a 2.0.3-4 package has just been uploaded.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks to sync -4 instead of -3 on Ubuntu...
