Hurray it works. Both Mustek and the newer Megatec driver worked.
So i am the proud owner of a Mustek UPS.
for future reference. I used
user=nut
[sweex]
driver = mustek
port = /dev/ttyS0
desc = "Sweex 1000VA UPS"
and
user=nut
[sweex]
driver = megatec
port = /dev/ttyS0
desc = "Sweex 1000VA UPS"
I am using the megatec driver now because it has the most features.
