while working on that, I noticed some new lintian errors, one of them
would be applicable to backports (versioned depend on lsb-base). I've
committed a fix for that.
Also I've applied the changes needed for the MySQL->MariaDB transition,
but I think this will need some testing, especially for cases where the
client uses libmariadb, but the server is running the original
MySQL-server.
