I've catched up on the bacula-devel list now. AFAIK we're not in a hurry
to meet any deadlines (I'm not sure about Ubuntu), so waiting is the
easy option.

If patience runs out, the watch file still has the option to ignore a
+dfsg suffix ;-)

So far I haven't had time to look at the diff from 9.4 to 9.6.
