Package: lxqt-sudo
Version: 0.10.0-2
Severity: wishlist
Dear Maintainer,
gksudo, kdesudo and lxqt-sudo currently provide similar services, and having
one of them installed on a system should be sufficient IMHO. However, as it
stands, packages are recommending, or even depending on, a specific one
of these frontends.
Please consider creating a virtual package (e.g. sudo-graphical-frontend),
and a desktop-independent executable (e.g. using alternatives) so that packages
that require generic graphical sudo services can depend on and use those.
Maybe that some applications do require a specific frontend, but I'm sure there
is a significant number of packages that works fine with whatever sudo frontend
happens to be installed.
I am submitting this same bug for gksu, kdesudo and lxqt-sudo.
Kind regards,
Rogier.
