That's great! Thanks for your contributions. I've been unable to
prioritize this for too long already, but I'll try to review the merge
requests soon and, assuming it all looks good to me, handle the
uploads. It'll be great to finally have version 8 done.

Good, thanks. I notice that the patch only changes the version
numbers. Did you investigate to ensure that no changes are needed for
compatibility? Especially considering that it's a major version
upgrade (2 to 3).
