/var/lib/roundcube/.htaccess   should   contain  suhosin.session.encrypt
which  will  disable  session  encryption  which  is  incompatible  with
Roundcube. Do you have this line? How did you configure your Apache? Did
you use  /etc/apache2/conf.d/roundcube? It contains  "AllowOverride All"
which allows .htaccess processing.
