Seem so :-)  As far as Debian proper is concerned there is definitely no
PHP5 requirement.  Packages are tested against PHP from the same suite
(so PHP7.4 for Bullseye LTS).  Mix-and-match is at one's own risk.

Also, if you used an EOL'ed PHP5 from Debian Jessie, beware it has known
security issues (many of the PHP7.4 vulnerabilities [0] affect PHP5 too)
so your system may or may not be compromised :-/
